|12:36 pm - Holy freaking crap|
I'm so excited. I just bought the greatest thing I think I've ever purchased. Of course, I'll be selling more of my precious game items and my Kenshin VHS Memorial Box to help pay for an amplifier for it, but it's soooooo worth it.
It's one of the Japanese Fender Stratocasters from the early 90's with a very lovely cherry Foto Flame finish. Fender has stopped making their Made in Japan/Crafted in Japan (MIJ/CIJ) products available in the US b/c apparently the quality is comparable to their US crafted line (which is considerably more expensive). Fender's Mexican-made Fat Strat costs $400 without the case. I paid $375+$25 shipping for my MIJ Fat Strat (with case), and the finish is far lovelier than just about anything you'd find on a Mexican Fat Strat.
The pics are kind of dark, but as soon as it arrives, I'll hopefully be able to take some pics of my own.
The only thing missing, as far as I can tell is the back tremelo cover:
But it will play fine without it until I can find a replacement. Of course, I'll eventually replace the stock pickups with something that will sound a little nicer....and if I really love it and intend to keep it, I can replace all the electronics with the US stuff. Of course, those plans are for much further down the line.
Right now, I'm just counting the days until it arrives. :D :D :D
Current Mood: excited
Since I helped you pay for this guitar...
And we're on a public forum at the moment...
Do you have anything you want to say? Anything about a certain lucky redhead?
...Go ahead. :D
